Human Race expands Moore’s duties

The Human Race Theatre Company has named executive director Kevin Moore to the new position of producing artistic director and promoted company manager Tara Lail to managing director.

The resident professional theater company’s trustees announced the changes Tuesday, Jan. 18, in response to the death of artistic director Marsha Hanna on Jan. 3.

Moore, of Dayton, had been executive director since the company was established in 1986.

Lail, a Yellow Springs resident who joined the troupe in 2005 after serving as artistic director and production stage manager of the former outdoor drama “Blue Jacket,” will now take on additional duties as producer and board liaison.

Board president Beth Schaeffer said the new alignment compares closely with the traditional theater model of “a single producing director.”
