Skinner fastest in NASCAR Truck practice
Veteran NASCAR Truck Camping World Truck Series driver Mike Skinner was fastest in Friday’s afternoon practice session at Kentucky Speedway.
Skinner, of Ontario, Calif., turned in a lap of 31.603 seconds around the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval for a top speed of 170.870 mph. The 2008 pole qualifier won the “Built Ford Tough 225” race in 2007.
Second quickest in Friday’s session was Mooresville, N.C. driver Brian Scott with a 31.764-second, 170.004 mph lap. Toledo native Terry Cook was third quickest at 31.781 seconds at 169.913 mph.
ARCA RE/MAX Series stock car practice is currently under way (as of 7:30 p.m. Saturday).
The “Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” will take place Saturday night at 7 p.m. Qualifying takes place at 3:30 p.m.
According to a Kentucky Speedway press release, tickets remain and will be on sale at the track starting at 1 p.m. at the Main Gate.
