Four tied for Ohio Speedweek lead
Tim Shaffer captured the second leg of Ohio Speedweek at Findlay’s Millstream Speedway on Sunday, June 21 — joining Terry McCarl as the other A-Main winner — but both still trail in the overall point standings.
Stevie Smith, Greg Wilson, Rob Chaney and defending champ Randy Hannagan enter Tuesday’s event at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg tied atop the Speedweek standings with 195 points. Shaffer (193), McCarl (191), Daryn Pittman (190), Dale Blaney (180), Cale Conley (176) and Brandon Wimmer (174) round out the top 10. McCarl won at Eldora Speedway on Saturday.
Speedweek — sanctioned by the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions — was scheduled to race at Wayne County Speedway on Monday. That race was canceled and this message posted on its website:
“Due to the impending bad weather expected this weekend & the fact that finances are tough for everyone, We here at Federated Auto Parts Wayne County Speedway will be more than happy to issue refunds for any rain out ticket or wristband. Please mail your ticket or wristband along with the name and address of the person to receive the refund to: Wayne County Speedway Attn: Renee 490 Dewey Ave Mansfield, Oh 44902”
Speedweek continues through Saturday, including stops at Waynesfield Raceway Park on Wednesday and Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday.
