Bored by burnouts? How would you celebrate a NASCAR win?

You’re screaming out of turn four at 170 mph leading the howling pack on the final lap. Kyle Busch is on your bumper, fighting to get alongside to trade a little paint. You fly across the finish line to the checkered flag and the thunderous cheers of more than 100,000 fans.

And then …

Well, that’s what I want to know. What’s your victory celebration? I was reading an article that said burnouts are boring, catch fence climbing is cliche and victory laps are lame.

Me?

I’d like to see something involving the crew. How about lining them up at the start/finish line like bowling pins, the winning driver rolling his helmet toward them and knocking them down? A human pyramid would be fun, too.

Better yet, how about arming the crew with those t-shirt shooting air cannons? The crew could launch sponsor-themed items into the appreciative crowd. It’s always a hit at Dayton Dragons games.

Or drivers could just be old school and drive to victory lane, acting like they’ve been there before.

So what about you? What would you do or like to see? Who knows, maybe we’ll see it done some day after a race.

I still like the Polish victory lap!! the one that goes the other way. Burnouts seem so childish.
